They just wanted a poster designed. They had a thing they had put together on Word and would have printed out – more of a letter than anything else. I decided to give them the full Sunday colour supplement treatment. It was an unpaid piece of work for a very small organisation working with kids in the community and run entirely by volunteers. So I was very glad to help and I quite like the outcome. In the past, I have seen this sort of ad design cost the client thousands.

Leap Day 29 Feb 2012 was one extra day in four years. We worked out that this day gets automatically snapped up by your employer and anyone on monthly pay does not get any extra money so, effectively they are giving an extra days work to their employer for nothing in return.

So we decided to launch an initiative to get people and companies to give Leap Day over to a good cause. I designed and manged the build of a fully functioning ‘match-making’ site to put charities who need some help with people willing to give it. As a PR exercise it got exposure nationally on TV and in the press. Over 1500 requests for help went through the site and hundreds of people volunteered.

“Behind every book you’ll find more than just words”. This campaign was designed to promote the value of a publisher to an author. I did it with a word chain and used the highlight text to bring out the corporate colours of the publishers. Took some fairly nifty copywriting and typography to get it ranging correctly and still making sense. Looked really good as a huge banner poster

The competition had updated their web presence while the Watchhut had slipped in design, presentation and search engine performance. This redesign was created to update the site as well as bring about some brand movement and offer a design whereby seo and optimised landing pages were an option. One of our objectives has been to give the site a sustainable technical, creative and commercial advantage. For this reason, the new design has been created to be difficult to replicate or copy key functions without competitors undergoing a complete overhaul.
